Breast Cancer: Samantha Piedra's Brochure
Breast cancer is a cancer that starts in the tissues. There are two main types of breast cancer which are ductal carcinoma and lobular carcinoma. Ductal carcinoma start in the tubes that transfer milk from the breast to the nipple (ducts). Lobular carcinoma starts in the parts of the breast that produce milk (lobules). Rarely does breast cancer start in other areas of the breast. Breast cancer may be invasive, meaning it has spread from the milk duct or lobule to other tissues in the breast, or it can be noninvasive, meaning it has not invaded any other part of the breast. Breast cancers are sensitive to the hormone estrogen, making the cancer grow.
